European buildings
European Paper Buildings
Our range of European buildings focuses on typical village and country buildings that you would find in France in the late 19th Century and the first half of the 20th Century. Similar buildings could be found in parts of Belgium and the western parts of Germany, so these buildings are well-suited for games set on the Western Front of both World Wars. We have two different village packs, the #1 set has a large Norman-style church. We also offer a smaller hamlet pack and a walled farmhouse complex. We will soon be adding a new set with larger town buildings. All the buildings have the PaperTerrain feature of the lift-off outer shell and ruins underneath. Our 25/28mm Hamlet Pack includes extensive interior detail—perfect for skirmish gaming! Please note that our kits come unassembled and do not include the bases, landscaping trees or figurines seen in some of these pictures.
Russian buildings
Russian Paper Buildings
If you game on the Eastern Front—from 1600 to 1945—these buildings will work well for you. The architecture in Russian villages was quite simple, usually log walls with thatched or wood shingle roofs. A common feature was elaborately carved and decorated window and door frames. Since buildings in the southern regions were more commonly plastered and white-washed, while buildings in the north were left as rough wood, we offer two types of models to reflect this. Russian churches could be as simple as the houses, or extremely elaborate. Our two churches reflect both styles.
Mediterranean buildings
Mediterranean Paper Buildings
Buildings along the shores of the Mediterranean, in Italy, Greece, Spain, Southern France, and even the colonial parts of North Africa, were usually white-washed and topped with red tile roofs. Our Mediterranean kits allow you to build towns or villages from these areas. The village and hamlet packs give you all the basic buildings. The Town Expansion pack allows you to build a bigger town with a magnificent Romanesque church and elaborate townhouses. Finally, the Italian Monastery is the perfect centerpiece for your table—an objective worth fighting for! All the buildings have the PaperTerrain feature of the lift-off outer shell and ruins underneath. Please note that our kits come unassembled and do not include the bases, landscaping trees or figurines seen in some of these pictures.
Middle Eastern buildings
Middle Eastern Paper Buildings
The hot and dry lands of North Africa and the Middle East produced buildings made of adobe with flat roofs. Many of them have rooftop terraces. Our kits allow you to create a small town or oasis village. The buildings are appropriate for any time period from ancient to modern. We also offer an exquisitely detailed mosque. All the buildings have the PaperTerrain feature of the lift-off outer shell and ruins underneath. Please note that our kits come unassembled and do not include the bases, landscaping trees or figurines seen in some of these pictures.
American buildings
American Paper Buildings
We offer a limited range of 19th Century buildings which we hope to expand in the future. Our farmhouse set includes two farmhouses and two barns from the battlefield at Gettysburg. We also have a set of the common snake-rail fences that could be found in so many places during that time. All the buildings have the PaperTerrain feature of the lift-off outer shell and ruins underneath. Please note that our kits come unassembled and do not include the bases, landscaping trees or figurines seen in some of these pictures.
Railroads and Railroad Buildings
Railroad Paper Trains and Paper Buildings
Railroads crisscrossed Europe and were the primary means of transportation throughout the 20th Century. We offer sets of typical rolling stock, track and railroad buildings that might be found almost anywhere on the continent. The locomotive and cars are highly detailed and provide an attractive alternative to expensive model railroad items. The buildings are some of the largest we offer and will provide impressive objectives to fight your games around. Most of the buildings have the PaperTerrain feature of the lift-off outer shell and ruins underneath. Please note that our kits come unassembled and do not include the bases, landscaping trees or figurines seen in some of these pictures.
Fortifications
Paper Fortifications
Wherever soldiers fought they tried to make themselves safe from enemy fire by building fortifications. We offer a wide range of fortifications including trenches, ‘log’ bunkers, gun pits, barbed wire, minefields, anti-tank obstacles and ‘concrete’ pillboxes. Please note that our kits come unassembled and do not include the bases, landscaping trees or figurines seen in some of these pictures.
Landing Craft
Paper Landing Craft
We have models of three of the most widely used types of landing craft during World War II. The famous “Higgens Boat” (LCVP), the British-built LCA (Landing Craft, Assault) and the LCM (Landing Craft, Mechanized). We plan to be adding the LCI (Landing Craft, Infantry) in the near future. The kits come unassembled.
Tropical Buildings
Novels
Grass huts and shacks are among the oldest structures built by man, but they are still in use today. We offer several sets which can be used in games set in Africa, Asia or the Americas, from prehistoric times to the present day. Our round grass huts are a departure from our normal buildings in that they DO NOT come with a ruined version. We felt that they are such flimsy structures that any damage would reduce them to grass clipping rather than a ruin. But as a result, you get a lot more of them with each set (and it would be very easy to make ruins out of the extras if you really want them). The rectangular grass shacks do come with the usual ruins. They also can be built with or without a raised platform. Please note that our kits come unassembled and do not include the bases, landscaping trees or figurines seen in some of these pictures.
Bridges
Bridges
We offer kits with 1-arch, 2-arch and 3-arch “stone” bridges. They are available in a gray-colored “stone”, a brown-colored “stone” or a mix. Sorry, but there is no ‘ruined’ version of the bridges. The kits come unassembled and do not include any landscaping or figurines.
Novels
Novels
Novels? What do you mean novels? This place sells paper buildings and stuff! Well, a good novel should build a world out of paper, right? So it really is appropriate, don’t you think? No? Well, too bad, we sell novels, too! In addition to designing, drawing, printing and selling paper buildings, Scott Washburn is a novelist. We offer one of his science fiction novels here with more to follow soon. They are available either through Amazon.com or you can buy them directly from PaperTerrain. If you like classic science fiction in the tradition of Robert Heinlein, David Drake or David Weber, then you will probably like this.
